History of Kégresse in Germany is not as detailed as in other countries. There are sources that mention that they were built at Citroën's factory in Cologne, we would like to know more about that!
Best regards from Germany Wilfried Pleiter
In the book "75 Jahre Citroën in Deutschland" by Immo Mikloweit there is mentioned that Kegresse halftrack cars was build in the plant of Cologne.
3 pages of the book "CITROËN - Die ersten deutschen Jahre - 1919-1969" (CITROËN - The first German Years - 1919-1969) written by Immo Mikloweit. On the last page two Kégresse's build in Cologne, which drove in winter 1932 to Munich, as rolling chassis to get their body work. By the book HERE
The Norwegian newspaper Arbeiderbladet wrote the 3rd september 1932:
The first German half track vehicle put into service at Rottach near Tegernsee, a new type of half track vehicle was put into use the other day to drive tourists around the mountains.
The postal cars
Two Kégresses in service at the Deutsche Reichspost, you can barely see the registration of one RP 39.... In the sign on the door, you can see that the route went from the town of Berchtesgaden to the alpine resort of Obersalzberg.
RP 393 was one of the Postal cars.
Another Kégresse from the Deutsche Reichspost with registration RP 37416.
A guess as to the fate of those post cars is perhaps this little notice in a tourist booklet!
3 Mail vans from Deutsche Reichspost were sent to the front in 1941, all the way to Finland!
Does anyone know about this?
